SHALOM in the Name of YESHUA.  Firstly, I want to introduce our family. We are a Messianic Jewish family from Auckland, New Zealand.   My wife Josie, and our two sons, Stefan age 19 & Jordan age 16 1/2.  Josie recommitted her life to the Lord in 1986 and after praying for me for the next year, I was radically saved in 1987.  In secular life I was a salesman, a gifting which equates to an evangelist    in the Kingdom.  From the first day I received the Lord, I have had a natural urge to share the Gospel. Josie is a committed intercessor and prayer warrior.

We believe the full Gospel according to the Old and New Testaments and that YESHUA (Jesus) is the Messiah of both Jew and Gentile.     We also believe that God's Covenant with the Jewish people is eternal and that it is central to His end-time plan that the Jewish people return to their ancient homeland in these days, in preparation for their national Salvation. Then they will finally fulfill their calling to be ‘a Kingdom of Priests, a Holy nation’. (Ex 19:6, Is 11:11-12, Rom 11:26 & 29)

  WHY WE MOVED TO ISRAEL:

We had visited Israel twice, but were quite comfortable and happy living a safe Christian lifestyle in the peace and prosperity New Zealand offers.  Late 1991 God spoke to me seven times in one week, calling    us to come to Israel. The scriptures He led me to were 1 Kings 17:2-3 & Zech 2:7.  I told Josie and He then confirmed  His Word  to her by way of a  vision,  in  conjunction with the song,  ‘Come let us go up to the mountain of  the  Lord’.  (Isaiah 2:3).

In obedience we initiated the paperwork with the Auckland synagogue and by August 1992 we were in an absorption centre in Haifa.  After living in very basic conditions for seven months while learning Hebrew, God led us to rent an apartment on Mt Carmel.  For the next 3 years, we fellowshipped at Carmel Assembly with many other new immigrant families. They had also been called in similar ways, to be part of a growing remnant of believers in YESHUA returning to the land of our forefathers.  We believe it is God's will that Messianic Jews return to   live in Israel, as well as secular and religious Jews.

OUR LIFE IN ISRAEL:

I have a small business detailing cars. Our 2 sons have attended regular Israeli school.  Jordan is still at school and Stefan is now serving in the Israeli army.  Josie spends much of her time taking care of the needs of the familyand assisting David in the ministry work of Out of Zion. She also heads up a new email based international intercession network,   INTERCESSORS FOR THE RESTORATION OF ISRAEL (I.R.I.) . website www.iri.out-of-zion.com . This network focuses on praying in the things that will bring real peace to Israel and the World hastening the coming of the Messiah! Josie also travels with David, Out of Zion, and ministers with him, when she can. She is committed to intercede for the ministry of Out of Zion.

Israel is a very difficult place to make it financially, but we believe our business is to be an  example to others, both  believers and  non-believers,  that in  spite of  the  often  talked about "giants in the Land" that  really do exist and do their  best to break you  mentally and spiritually,  it  is possible to make it, righteously, in Israel.   This work gives me incredible opportunities to share the Lord with people as I work on their cars. 

  OUR MINISTRY VISION:

Now that Israel is physically regathered as a nation, it is clear that a spiritual rebirth must follow.  (See Ezekiel 37—dry bones).  Speaking specifically of Israel, Paul asks how shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard not heard and how shall they hear without  a preacher, and how shall they preach unless they are sent?" (Rom 10:14)  Usually a "sent one" is called a missionary.  However, because of the sad history of Church anti-Semitism, the term “missionary” is a negative word in Israel. A person representing themselves in Israel as such would be about as popular as a pork chop in a synagogue!  We are not ‘foreigners’ with a ‘foreign message’, rather we are bringing the news of YESHUA back to His native soil.  We have found that by participating in regular Israeli life, we are constantly presented with opportunities to share YESHUA with the Jewish people. Because we are working, tax paying citizens, we have far more credibility than if we were seen as missionaries. However we do see ourselves in “full time ministry” - to be credible Israeli citizens who happen to believe that YESHUA is indeed the Messiah our people have been awaiting for so long.

We also believe that the Word of the Lord is to go out from Israel once again. (Is 2:3)  The Lord led us to become involved with the Jewish people of the former Soviet Union.  In 1995 we went to Moscow to participate in a week-long outreach to the Jews of Moscow.  Then in 1996, we went to Moldovia for an outreach to the Jewish people of Kishinev, the capital city. We have seen the incredible hunger and openness of Soviet Jewry to hear about YESHUA.  We have seen hundreds pray to receive Him as their Lord and Messiah.  It is very exciting and fulfilling as an evangelist to be involved in this harvest.

We are pioneer members of a Messianic congregation, birthed in Nov 1995, in the heart of the Russian community of Haifa, "Ohalei Rachamim " (Tents of Mercy).  The congregation caters specifically for Russian new immigrants.We minister to them practically and spiritually. A number of the people who were saved at the outreaches in Russia are now living in Haifa and attending  Ohalei Rachamim. We are expecting many more to come in the days ahead. It is exciting to be in the centre of what God is doing amongst His people and we look forward to a great outpouring of His Spirit upon this nation.

OUT OF ZION:

In August 1997 Josie and I again led an Israeli contingent to the Hear O Israel festival in Riga, the capital of Latvia. While in Riga and after we returned to Israel, the Lord imparted a vision for a ministry which we have called OUT Of ZION.  It is based on Isaiah 2:3 and Roms 1:16.  We believe the Lord showed us that it is time for the Israeli believers to fulfill the ancient call on this people to be a light to the nations and to take the Word of the Lord out from Israel to the world. Within a short period of time, David made two trips to help organise outreaches in Samara and Murmansk.  We are looking to be involved to a greater extent in the ongoing evangelisation of the Jewish people of Eastern Europe and Central Asia and hope to be able to participate in the outreach programs as long as the doors remain open. We need to raise our own support for this work. OUT OF ZION is covered spiritually by the leadership of Ohalei Rachamim. HOW CAN YOU BE PART OF WHAT GOD IS DOING?

We are seeking out those who would stand with us in our work in Israel and in our Ministry to the Jewish people of The C.I.S. We need much prayer support for our well-being and for the effectiveness of our ministry. The car detailing work partially provides what we need to meet the cost of living in Israel, so we are always thankful for practical support as well. This releases us to spend more time on Kingdom business, rather than on secular work.  We need your support to be co-laborers in the Harvest.

Will you pray for the Lord's guidance as to how you can be co-workers with Him and us, in this most important mission-field? The Restoration of Israel will bring about the coming of the Lord.  (Acts 3:19-21)
