Isaiah 2:3 For the Torah Shall Go Forth From Zion and the Word of the Lord
From Jerusalem
In fulfillment of the above
scripture verse, the Out of Zion Ministries team has recently been expanded,
and we expect further expansion in the future as the Lord continues the
process of Israel's restoration. We would like to introduce our new
Emissaries
David & Josie Silver

David & Josie are the founders/ directors of Out of Zion Ministries. Josie
was saved in 1986 and David followed in 1987. In 1991 the Lord spoke to both
of them about moving to Israel and in 1992, after selling their new family
home and shares in a successful auto parts business, they immigrated from New
Zealand with their two sons, Stefan aged 7 and Jordan aged 4. The boys grew
up in Israel, speak and read Hebrew perfectly and after finishing school, served
in the Israeli army in high caliber combat.
As well as running a car detailing business, David has been teaching the church
in the nations about God's plans and purposes for Israel since 1997. As well
as taking care of the home and family needs, Josie founded and administrates
an international intercession ministry that focuses on praying for the fulfillment
of the prophecies that speak about the restoration of Israel which must take
place before the return of the Messiah.
Our vision is to see a large
team of Messianic ambassadors travelling to the nations with the Word of
the Lord. That vision is now beginning to come to pass. We have great pleasure
in introducing two Israeli Messianic Jews who have recently joined the
ministry team.

A New Heart and a New Spirit
One can say they know the Lord, but truth is, He knows us more than we
ever will know him. I was always in love with Israel, but in 1991, God
gave me one of my hearts' desires, to join the people of Israel. I came
on a tour, and didn't go home, but was offered a job. My wife went back
to break the news. God began to fulfill Ezekiel 36:24-36 ...I will take
you from the nations, gather you from all the lands and bring you into
your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be
clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.
Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you...
I had a relationship with God, and didn't think I had idols, but in Israel,
God revealed all sorts of things and began to transform my life and that
of my wife. He brought me to a deeper walk with His Son as God gave me
a son and I began to understand the love the Father has for me. Now, daily,
He is taking me further in faith adventures. And the journey has only to
sweeten.
High-Tech The original job
I came for is long past and I've done everything from construction
under the hot Israeli sun, to McDonald's hamburger flipping. Now for the
last eight years, I work in a field less trodden by believers: Hi-Tech.
Touching those who have works, but little faith if any, not knowing they
need repentance to a God who has never forsaken His people.
Life in Israel I enjoy life
in Israel. Lately, when I see people who look injured, hobbling on crutches,
or just plain sick, I try to ask them if I can pray for them - because
when we step out in faith, God does the rest, because He says that these
signs will follow those who believe in my name, they will lay hands on
the sick and they shall recover. It's actually really easy, we be obedient
and He does the rest because it is His power, not ours. He says without
Me, you can do nothing (depending on your own strength), but, "Abide
in Me, and I in you...He that abideth in Me and I in him, the same bringeth
forth much fruit". Abiding means
not striving or struggling, but resting (Hebrews 4:10) in the love of an
Almighty Savior. In the words of Hudson Taylor, "We don't strive for
faith, we rest in your faithfulness." For as long as it is called "today",
we enter into His rest, and what He has accomplished already for us on the
tree (the cross). "In quietness and confidence will be your strength." If
we don't know or accept Yeshua, Son of God, fully God, fully man - and what
He has done for us - it says in Proverbs 18:2 that before destruction, the
heart of man is haughty (proud), but humility (accepting that Yeshua has
done it all for us) goes before honor.
The Fire (Matthew 3:11) My
greatest longing ,is to go out and bring a fire from this Land and a desire
to others to yearn and burn with desire for Israel, God's people and His
salvation. God loves all people; He has not forsaken His people nor His
Land. Again, like in many times past, the enemy is seeking to lead Israel
into a trap to destroy the Jewish people and the Land, because He knows
that a huge harvest is coming, and Israel is the centerpiece of this harvest.
Christ in you, the hope of glory. We are to shine with His brightness.
God asks in Isaiah 49, is it too light a thing that you should be my servant
to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel
- I will also give you for a light to the Nations, that you may be my salvation
unto the end of the earth. We can only do this as we realize we have nothing
in ourselves, but He is everything. So that is my prayer for you, that
as you read this, you will fall in love with the Lord, and the things that
He loves, more and more - and find out what pleases Him.
God bless you from Zion,
Scott and Coleen Baker

Dena Gewanter

As I was struggling to write a short biography of myself for 'OUT OF ZION'
ministries, I asked a journalist friend of mine to help me with the first sentence.
Immediately, she said, "When I think of you, I know God has a sense of
humor."
With that in mind, I will try to give a brief overview of how I arrived with
suitcases in hand to Ben Gurion Airport in September of 2005 to start my new
life in Israel.
I was raised in a conservative Jewish family, with both sets of grandparents
immigrants to the U.S. from Eastern Europe at the turn of the century. Both
families had horror stories from the old country about pogroms, hunger and
anti-Semitism. My father's parents worked tirelessly to make enough money to
bring their extended family to America, and of their three sons, two were lawyers,
and my father was a doctor. My mother was raised by her socialist father, who
had been forced to serve in the Russian army in his youth. His barber shop
was the center of lively political discussions and the place where many would
gather to listen to classical music on the only gramophone in the neighborhood.
I was given the opportunity to have an excellent education, but found that
my life held little meaning. During the 1960's, I went the route of many young
people of that day, searching for religious and personal enlightenment in drugs,
new age practices and alternative lifestyles. At the age of 16, a Christian
neighbor invited me to hear a couple of men who were 'Jesus freaks' (a term
I had never heard before), at a Full Gospel Businessmen meeting. Happy to get
out of the house, I went and heard for the first time in my life about Jesus.
It was alien to me, having been raised in a traditional Jewish family, but
I recognized that these men had a joy and peace that I was looking for. They
challenged me to ask for myself if Jesus was the Son of God, and when I did,
I had a supernatural encounter with the Lord that forever changed my life.
I received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit the following day, and began my journey
as a Jewish believer in a Christian world.
I wanted to be an artist,
like my mother and aunt, but the Lord directed me into medicine, and I
eventually went to medical school later in life and practiced in the Boston
area as a primary care physician. Prior to that, I had many interesting
life experiences, including living communally on a farm raising horses, goats
and sheep; working in pottery, weaving and painting, and also living in the
West Indies for two years. My marriage to a believer collapsed after 22 years
when he decided to abandon his faith and family. I have two sons; one passed
away, and the other lives in California.
I lived my whole life in an area where there weren't many Jewish believers;
while I knew I was different, it never occurred to me that God would have another
plan for me other than remaining in the United States. Despite the fact that
I was part of several churches over the years, I never met anyone who either
loved Israel or understood what the Bible said about the return of the Jewish
people to the land the Lord had covenanted to them thousands of years ago.
Following my first visit to Israel two weeks after September 11, 2001, the
Lord spoke to my heart and said I was live in Israel. I had had a vision in
1973 that I was to give my life for the Jewish people, but did not understand
at that time what it meant, nor had any idea that the Lord would bring the
vision to fruition over 30 years later. It was only after my trip that all
the scriptures concerning Israel were opened to me. I saw then that I had been
part of a church system that was completely in the dark about the covenantal
promises of God to restore Israel, and that Israel itself still belongs to
the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The church had taken all the promises
in the scriptures concerning Israel and the Jewish people and applied them
to Christians as individuals, while never acknowledging that the Israel in
the Bible was in fact, really the Israel of today!
As a result of my exposure
to replacement theology and the ignorance of the church to present day
fulfillment of prophecy, I have a deep burden and commitment to share the
truth about what is happening in Israel in order to help the Christian
church understand, participate in and partner with what the Lord is doing
in these last days. If the Lord Yeshua is indeed preparing to make His
entrance back to planet earth via Jerusalem as described in the Bible,
those who love Him and yearn for His return need to be informed about the
events occurring in this country today. It is not only thrilling to see
prophecies spoken over 3,000 years ago coming to pass, but important to
be informed as to how to pray into those words of prophecy, and also pray
for the 'lifting of the veil' over the eyes of the Jews concerning 'He
who was pierced' for their sakes. It is critical that believers outside
of Israel receive accurate information concerning the activities of those
who are in opposition to the completion of the Lord's purposes, so as not
to be deceived by the distorted news reports that come out of the secular
press I am truly thrilled
and honored to have been invited to join 'Out of Zion' ministries to help spread
the truth to the churches about the Lord's end time purposes in the Land of
Israel
